Proposal to the European ECAAR branches: Call for Papers The Political Economy of War, Peace, Armament, Disarmament, and Conversion organised by the European ECAAR chapters European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE) to be regularly held at the annual meetings of EAEPE: Dear ECAAR Colleagues and Friends, Earlier this month, the EAEPE Council entertained the idea to create regular sessions on topics related to "The Political Economy of War, Peace, Armament, Disarmament, and Conversion." These sessions will be organised by the European ECAAR chapters in conjunction with EAEPE. It should be easy to organise two connected sessions in which, at most, 8 papers are presented. The Council was in favour of the idea. As the Chair of the German chapter of ECAAR, I suggested that ECAAR-US locate an ECCAR-US representative to open a double-session at the 2004 meetings. Further, as local organizer for the 2005 EAEPE conference, I put forth the idea that an ECAAR-US representative act as EAEPE keynote speaker. Also ECAAR was receptive to this idea and suggested that the cost associated with the 2004 speaker be split between ECAAR-US and European chapters of ECAAR. We would like to know your opinion of these proposals. Some ECAAR chairs will be available to discuss these ideas at the San Diego ASSA-ECAAR sessions. But you should email your comments to us under brzoska@isfh.de. We hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely,
Bremen, Bonn, end of November 2003. |
