Advisory services

BICC offers advisory services. This service section is another fundamental pillar in the implementation of its Mission Statement “Facilitating peace, security and development”. BICC’s advisory competence has been particularly sought after in the fields of disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of former military personnel, civilian components of peace-building missions, crisis management and post-crisis assistance as well as small arms control. BICC is implementing projects on behalf of international and bilateral development organizations (such as GIZ, KfW Development Bank, EUROPEAID and UNDP), as well as directly on behalf of donor governments (Germany, Canada, UK). BICC’s advisory services include background analyses, feasibility and evaluation studies, training and expert workshops as well as the provision of long-term and short-term experts.

Since 2007, a special focus lies on assistance to the Demobilization, Disarmament and Reintegration (DDR) program, as well as in technical support to the Bureau for Community Security and Arms Control in South Sudan. These projects are funded by the German Foreign Office and KfW Development Bank.
