Capacity development
BICC is committed to developing the capacity of the different actors in peace processes. This service section is the third pillar to implement the leitmotiv “Facilitating peace, security and development”. BICC’s approach in its service area Advisory Services is to elaborate concepts and modules for education and training and to offer them to local actors /in the countries themselves. Partners are UN- and other international organizations, government agencies, international and national foundations as well as international and national NGOs.
Some of its recent activities in capacity development are training projects on small arms control, the capacity development project with the South Sudan DDR Commission (SSDDRC) and, in the area of civic education, the interactive online portal “Figures and facts on war and peace” for the German Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb).
