Anila holds a honoring position as: Advancing Alternative Migration Governance, Scientific Advisory Board Member. She is also founding member of Global Independent Refugee Women Leaders (G.I.R.W.L.), an active member of the steering group for The Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement 2020 (ATCR). She participated in the Expert Group Meeting (EGM #3) on Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Cities (UN- Habitat), is an Advisory Board member of Asylos,Trustee of European Network of Statelessness (ENS) and a steering Board Member of the Global Refugee-led Network Co-founder of European Coalition (GRN). 

Anila takes an interdisciplinary approach towards understanding gender discourses at the intersections of social justice and migration. She works on research and initiatives in the field of social sector and social sciences. Presently, she is looking into policy and political challenges, and meaningful participation while her focus has remained on evidence-based policymaking with a focus on social and political aspects affecting migrants and refugees, especially women. Her interest lies in deploying research, advocacy and policy debate towards analysing, and streamlining complex social processes that can provide concrete solutions towards achieving social justice.
