Birgit Kemmerling joined BICC in November 2019 as a researcher for a project on sustainable transformation processes in rural Morocco. Prior to this, she conducted extensive research on governing water in the agricultural sector in Egypt and on sustainable range management in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. She also worked at Caritas Germany for several years, where she managed humanitarian projects in various Sub-Saharan African countries.
