The Information Portal "War and Peace" of the German Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) and BICC (Bonn International Center for Conversion) has been offering a wealth of facts and figures on war and peace for five years. Symbolic arms destruction exercise to commemorate UN Disarmament Day

On 9 July, Benue State's Governor Samuel Ortom and local authorities in collaboration with the Presidential Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons (PRESCOM) in Makurdi, Nigeria, organised the event to launch an arms destruction programme that seeks to destroy hundreds of weapons as part of Benue State’s Amnesty Programme. » more
