Peace Days in Bonn

Each year, on 21 September, the International Day of Peace is observed around the world. In 2001, the General Assembly of the United Nations declared it a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. In the UN city of Bonn several groups and institutions will contribute to the International Day of Peace which will be running from 17 to 22 September 2013 (see program).

On 17 September 2013, at 18:00 hrs, BICC together with Plattform Zivile Konfliktbearbeitung (PZK) will hold a panel discussion with members of the German parliament discussing the topic of “Confronted with a choice – What are the priorities in respect of peace and development?” (in German) at BICC’s premises. (Please make sure to register for the panel discussion with Susanne Heinke, Head of Public Relations.)

On 18 September 2013, at 18:00 hrs, Conrad Schetter will present his latest book entitled “Pakistan –Land of the Extremes” (in German) in cooperation with the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the latter’s premises (Walter-Flex-Straße 3, 53113 Bonn). The presentation will be followed by a discussion.
