BICC shortlisted in Prospect Think Tank Awards 2016

On 28 November, the Prospect Think Tank Awards 2016 were presented in London at the House of Commons. For the first time, BICC (Bonn International Center for Conversion) had been nominated in the shortlist of the category “EU International Affairs” for its work in the field of small arms control.

“In the EU International Affairs category, the Bonn International Center for Conversion impressed as ‘an intriguing specialist’ on arms control, which highlighted in particular how damaging ‘the spread of arms among extremists’ is proving in Africa”, the jury explained its decision to shortlist BICC. While the European Council on Foreign Relations was also shortlisted, this year’s award’s winner was Carnegie Europe.

The Prospect Think Tank Awards were founded in 2001. They are an annual recognition of the important and influential work carried out by think tanks across the globe. The awards are free to enter and aim to give credit to the most original, influence and rigorous work on the most pressing challenges facing people, governments and businesses today. The awards are judged by an independent panel looking for evidence of influence on public policy and on the public discourse.
