Global Think Tank Index Report: BICC again listed in two categories
In 2015, BICC (Bonn International Center for Conversion) is again ranked among the leading think tanks worldwide.
The 2015 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report of the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP), University of Pennsylvania, lists the Center among the Top 150 think tanks (worldwide) und Top 100 (non-US). Only 12 German institutes are represented in both categories.
In 2015, the Index that intends to help bridge the gap between knowledge and policy, lists BICC as the only German peace and conflict research institute.
“Of course, we are very happy that we are, again, listed among the most reputable think tanks in the world,” Professor Conrad Schetter, Director for Research at BICC, stresses. “This is both a recognition and motivation for our future work. BICC stands out by its ability to make its profound knowledge on current topics, such as the debate over refugees, German arms exports or on the civil wars in the Middle East, in Afghanistan or in Ukraine heard in political debates.”
BICC is a think tank with international staff. It was founded in 1994 and is a member of the Johannes-Rau-Research Community. The Center’s Director for Research holds a chair for Peace and Conflict Research at Bonn University.
4,677 journalists, policy makers, think tanks and public and private donors from 143 countries participated in this year’s ranking process. The independent Think Tank Index is a response to requests to identify the leading centres of excellence in the world.
