Peace Researchers demand: The Peace Project Europe is not finished—it must be strengthened

Berlin. In the Peace Report 2014, which was presented on 3 June in Berlin, the five German leading peace and conflict research institutes call for a new alignment of European Neighbourhood Policy in view of the crisis in Ukraine. The ‘Peace Project European Union’ needs a comprehensive European security architecture. The peace researchers also critically reflect on European arms exports control and migration policy. In view of the humanitarian catastrophe in Syria, they appeal to the German government to receive at least 200,000 Syrian refugees.
