FFVT PhD and PostDoc Colloquium

Forced (im)mobilities under the conditions of violence – observations and reflections on current pathways of research

The Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1604 “Production of Migration” and the BMBF-funded project “Forced Migration and Refugee Studies: Networking and Knowledge Transfer” ( FFVT) jointly organize a fully-funded two-day colloquium in the field of forced migration and refugee research. It is open to PhD researchers and early career Postdocs based in Germany.

In his keynote lecture, Dr Benjamin Etzold, senior researcher at bicc, will reflect on trends, pathways and research gaps in (forced) migration studies. Critically reflecting about his own positionality and blind spots, he proposes five strategies towards de-centring, de-migranticizing and de-nationalising research on and with forcibly displaced people.
