The temporary protection status of Ukrainian refugees in Germany expires in March 2027, while prospects for a durable peace in Ukraine remain bleak. Without providing Ukrainian refugees with clear prospects for legal integration, Germany risks a surge in asylum claims, administrative overload and the loss of labour market contributions over the next twelve months.
